Good Eats: Easy Cinco De Mayo Sangria

Cinco de Mayo is next week and if you’re anything like us, your party-day plans will probably unfold spontaneously. That’s why we like this five-minutes-tops recipe for a simple sangria (that uses up the leftover fruit in the fridge, too). Just pour, stir, and fiesta like there’s no mañana.

1 bottle of white wine (Riesling, Pinto Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc work best)

½ liter of ginger ale

½ cup white sugar

Lemons, limes, oranges, strawberries, kiwis or any other fruit that will hold up well in a drink.

Cut fruit into thin slices and mix together.

Pour wine, ginger ale,  and sugar into a pitcher. Squeeze juice from the fruit wedges into the pitcher, then toss in the fruit (pick out seeds if possible).

Let chill and serve over lots of ice. Show the piñata who’s boss.
