“When I eat really poorly, it affects me everywhere, physically and mentally,” says Sam Negrin. “I get really tired and groggy.” And those are two adjectives she pretty much has no time for as the web editor of LEAF.tv, a modern lifestyle resource for women that produces stylish, bite-sized video tutorials covering everything from how to make guacamole to how to rock a cropped sweater. She’s also a certified yoga teacher (you can learn her favorite moves on LEAF.tv) who wakes up at 5:30 every morning to fit her practice in before her busy day starts. To stay on top of her game, Negrin likes to whip up this delicious smoothie recipe. “It’s full of protein, antioxidants and omega-3s,” she says. “It keeps me full for hours which is ideal for when I have a really busy work day.”
Green Acai Smoothie
1 frozen Acai bar (Sam likes Acai Roots)
1 handful of spinach
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp brown rice vanilla protein powder
½ cup coconut water
